Mike and Isobel Standing are a father-daughter duo working to offer an intergenerational view on improving social policies and building neighbourhoods. We emphasise the importance of participation, agency, community and action, replacing top down direction setting, dependency, individualism and more analysis. In the words of Bernard Crick their emphasise is on building “genuine relationships with people who are genuinely other people, not tasks set for our redemption or objects for our philanthropy.” Each week we examine quotes from leading thinkers, draw on proven ideas and develop new approaches through systems thinking. Our aim is to generate and support dialogue, collective action and positive change.
